Privacy Policy

This policy explains what The Plug Distribution collects on this wholesale site, why, and who sees it. This site is for licensed wholesale buyers who are 21 or older.
What we collect
- Your account and business details. Legal business name, any DBA, EIN, business and shipping addresses, your name, phone, and email, and your password (stored in scrambled form, not as you typed it).
- Resale and age records. Your resale certificate number and issuing state, any certificate details we record, and your resale and age confirmations, with the date and time you made them and the internet address you used.
- Your orders. What you ordered, ship-to address, invoices, the payment method you chose, and payment records such as amount, date, and reference. We do not keep your full card number or bank login details.
- Messages. Anything you send us, including order notes and emails.
- Technical data. Your internet address, browser, and the pages you request. We keep these in security and error logs.
How we use it
- To review your application and verify your business.
- To fill orders, ship them, invoice you, and record payment.
- To email you about your account and orders, and to answer you.
- To keep prices visible only to approved accounts, and to protect the site against fraud and abuse.
- To keep the tax, accounting, and compliance records a wholesale business needs.
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising.
Who else gets it
- Shipping. Our shipping software and the carriers (USPS or UPS) get your business name, ship-to address, and phone so they can deliver.
- Email. Our email delivery service handles the messages we send you.
- Payment. If you pay by card or bank transfer through a payment service, that service gets your payment details directly. Our site never sees full card numbers.
- Business tools. The hosting, accounting, and inventory tools we use to run the business hold the records they need.
- The law. We may share information when a law, court order, or government request requires it, or to protect our rights.
Our staff see your account and order details to do their jobs. Your EIN is masked everywhere except on the staff screen where we verify it.
Cookies
- We use two cookies that the site needs to work: one keeps you signed in, and one protects forms from forgery. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Visit counts. We count visits to this site with Umami, software we run ourselves. It sets no cookies, doesn't keep your full internet address, and doesn't record your name, email or orders. Staff pages are never counted.
How long we keep it
- Accounts that never verify their email may be deleted.
- Order, invoice, payment, and resale certificate records are kept for seven years, because tax and accounting rules require records of sales.
- Security logs are kept for a shorter, limited time.
How we protect it
The site uses HTTPS. Access to customer records is limited to our staff and the services above. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the information we hold, correct it, or delete it. Email [email protected] or call (980) 771-2420. We may need to keep some records, such as orders and tax records, for the period above.
Minors
This site is not for anyone under 21. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we post the new version here with a new effective date.
